Simply register on the site, browse our "Buy" page featuring a dynamic list of gift cards from over 450 of your favourite retailers, and then make a secure payment using INTERAC, PayPal or your credit card. You will receive your gift card in the mail typically within a week of placing your order.

  5. What does CardSwap certified mean? CardSwap Certified

  6. CardSwap verifies the amount available on gift cards with the issuing merchant and guarantees that all gift cards purchased will be delivered with the indicated amount available for spending.

    If you have any trouble verifying the balance on your purchased gift card, or any other related issue, please contact CardSwap within 21 days of your purchase at clientcare@cardswap.ca and we will be happy to assist you.


  7. How can I confirm the available balance on the gift card?

  8. The back of your gift card provides ways to check the balance. This can usually be done online, through a 1-800 number or in-store. You can also visit the CardSwap Balance Check page to find information on verifying the balance on your gift card.


  9. Is it safe to pay on CardSwap?

  10. YES! CardSwap offer you multiple payment options through Canada largest and most reputable payment platforms.

    INTERAC online — To make a payment you will be redirected to your bank's online banking page. From there the process is similar to making an online bill payment. INTERAC online banking payments are processed solely by your financial institution, using their own enhanced security and encryption methods to protect your financial and personal information.

    Credit card — Credit card payments are processed by one of Canada largest payment processors through their secure and encrypted platform.

    PayPal — You can use your verified PayPal account to pay for your purchases on CardSwap. Payment using PayPal is provided all the enhanced security and protection offered by PayPal – the world's largest e-commerce payment platform.

  13. Can I give the gift card as a present?

  14. Gift cards offered for sale on CardSwap are typically received directly from other consumers who sold us the gift card. As per the CardSwap Certified guarantee, these gift cards will definitely have the value indicated on the site when purchasing. However, these gift cards may also be slightly bent, have the PIN scratched, themed or in the form of a merchandise credit. If you intend to give as a present and absolutely require a gift card in mint condition, we recommend you purchase such gift card directly from the underlying merchant.


  15. When will I receive my gift card?

  16. Gift card orders are processed and mailed out via Canada Post regular mail within two (2) business days. Most gift cards are received within a week of placing your order.

    Certain gift cards offered on CardSwap are electronic gift cards and will be marked as such. Orders for electronic gift cards will typically be processed and emailed to you within two (2) business days.


  17. Can I obtain a refund or exchange if I change my mind?

  18. To enable CardSwap to offer terrific discounts on gift card purchases and free shipping, we are unable to process refunds or exchanges on gift card orders. However, for most merchants, you do have the option to sell the gift card back to CardSwap at our offered rates.


  19. What if the card I received is not exactly as described?

  20. If the gift card you receive is not what you expected please email us immediately at clientcare@cardswap.ca so we can help you resolve the issue. Remember you have 21 days from date of purchase to notify CardSwap of any issues.


  21. What if I forget my password?

  22. On the login screen, click "Forgot Password" and provide your registration email address. You will then receive an email containing a link to reset your password.


  23. What is a 'Wish List'?

  24. A 'Wish List' is your own personalized list of favourite merchants. When a gift card from one of your 'Wish List' merchant is available on our site, you will be notified via email — providing you with a first crack at taking advantage of the deal! Please note, gift cards for many popular merchants often sell within minutes of being listed on CardSwap.

  2. Have your gift card with you and click "Sell Gift Cards".

    Step 1: Receive Offer
    Enter the details of the gift card you would like to sell. CardSwap will provide you with an instant cash offer for the gift card.

    Step 2: Mail it
    Mail in your gift card using CardSwap’s free prepaid shipping label provided upon acceptance of the offer. It is highly recommended to wrap the gift card with paper, cardboard or bubble wrap before shipping.
    If the face value of the gift card(s) exceeds $250, CardSwap suggests using registered mail with signature tracking and will reimburse you up to $10 for such cost - simply include the receipt in the envelope.

    Step 3: Get Paid
    CardSwap will mail you a cheque within two business days of receiving and validating the amount on your gift card. You will receive an email notifying you that your cheque is in the mail. Please allow Canada Post up to ten business day to receive the cheque.


  3. How much will I get paid for my gift card?

  4. You will receive a cash offer for up to 92% of the redeemable value of the gift card. This offer is based on a variety of factors including CardSwap’s ability to validate and resell such gift card. To determine the exact amount, please have your card with you and click "Sell Gift Cards".

  7. How and when will I get paid for my gift card?

  8. You will receive payment by cheque. The cheque will be mailed to you within two business days of CardSwap receiving and validating the amount on your gift card. Your cheque will be mailed using Canada Post - please allow up to ten business days for it to arrive.

    To avoid delays, please ensure that the shipping address you provide during registration is accurately completed. This is the information we use when mailing your cheque.


  9. How and where do I ship the gift card?

  10. For your convenience CardSwap provides a prepaid shipping label upon acceptance of the offer. Please include all gift card(s) displayed on the shipping label in the same envelope. It is highly recommended to wrap the gift card(s) with paper or cardboard or bubble wrap before shipping.

    If the face value of the gift card(s) exceeds $250, CardSwap suggests using registered mail and will reimburse you up to $10 for such cost - simply include the receipt in the envelope. If you are sending the gift card(s) using register mail, or are not using the prepaid shipping label, please direct the mail to:

  11. What if the card gets lost in the mail?

  12. It is your responsibility to ensure successful mail delivery of the gift card to CardSwap at the address provided. CardSwap assumes no liability for any gift card lost in transit as we can only verify the actual mailing of any gift card, or the amount on such card, once it has been received by our processing center.

    TIP. Always accurately enter the gift card UPC number as requested during the transaction process. In the unlikely event that your gift card gets lost in transit such information may help you obtain a replacement gift card.


  13. What if I don't see the merchant in the list?

  14. If you do not see the merchant on the list, you may make a suggestion to CardSwap. Please allow two (2) business days to receive confirmation if we can accept this new merchant.


  15. What if I forget my password?

  16. Under the log-in page, click "Forgot Password". You will be sent an email with your password.


  17. How do I change my mailing or email address?

  18. What is a custom quote?

  19. The majority inquiries to sell a gift card on CardSwap will receive an instant offer. On occasion, you may submit an inquiry that requires a customized quote for the gift card you are looking to sell. To receive your custom quote, please email us at clientcare@cardswap.ca with the following information:

    • Name of store where the gift card can be redeemed
    • Redeemable value of the gift card
    • Your contact phone number

    You will receive a custom quote for your gift card from CardSwap, either via email or call, within two (2) business days.
